Olli "kononen" Salmi: "Global warming? BULLSHIT!"
Interview with "kononen" Salmi nominated as MVP at the DSRack #2 Lan. (by cadred.org)
Advertisment:
CKRAS: Hi Olli,
you placed 2nd at the DSRack #2 lan event. At the moment you are an MVP nominee at cadred.org - what do you think about the Event and your chance of getting the MVP title for the event?
KONONEN: Hello Andi!
We never thought that we could place second at this event, We were aiming for 4-6 standing before the event purely because we were unable to practice to the fullest, thanks to some internet problems.
As for the MVP thingie, personally I don't really care about it.. I hope nashje wins it :D *fistbump*
CKRAS: What can you say about the Event - what were the ups and downs?
KONONEN: The whole event was really well organized! special thanks to thomas (qdk) for working very hard, almost non-stop through the event.
Negative side was the "hostHELL's"... you can imagine putting 5 guys to a 4mx4m room, +30°c + no air-conditioning :D, that sucked but overall a nice lan-event.

CKRAS: You are now back in Finland, what is your next event?
KONONEN: Yes, back in Helsinki Finland its about +32°c (Global warming? BULLSHIT!) and I've got a danish flu..so its quite nice. Our next event will be a local lan Assembly Summer @ Hartwall arena in Helsinki, in 3 weeks.
CKRAS: Have you planned any other events in this year?
KONONEN: The eXperience will be our next international lan or maybe if there are some other events before that, we'll have to see.
CKRAS: You are playing CS/CSS for a long time, are you always motivated?
Isn´t it boring to train and play the same maps for several years?
KONONEN: Well I have played for like +10 years now, when I moved to css it was kind of a restart for my career because it is a totally different game comparing to 1.6. As for the maps, well it is what it is :D there are few good new maps for competitive gaming so it gives a little bit of a boost for your motivation to train them. For the old maps there are always new tactics you can come up with :) so it keeps the practice interesting.
CKRAS: What do you think about delonge as your newest member in the Team?
KONONEN: I played with delonge before this lineup in logitech.fi and diamondz, he is a good rifler, awesome team player and he sometimes he comes up with clutches! :).
CKRAS: You played vs. über geekz (ex-imperial) an other top Team without organisation.. it was the only loss for you in the tournament (excluding the final match). Why did you lose?
KONONEN: Well they were better prepared for that match so they deserved the victory.

CKRAS: Do you think that the missing of a professional online league like ESL Pro Series (e.g Scandinavia) will demotivate teams and show as a disadvantage against teams from germany or france?
KONONEN: I really dont like playing online cups/leagues that much. So it does not demotivate us at all, but for the germans and frenchies, I think there is some kind of am advantage for the lan events, maybe :D
CKRAS: How do you see the new CSS update effecint the eSport scene and leagues ? What do you personally think about it?
KONONEN: I think the update is alright... Some like it, some dont.
CKRAS: How long are you going to play CSS? your experience makes you a veteran in this field already!
KONONEN: Hah I'm only 25!! But seriously, this is going to be the last team I play in, so as long as this lineup stays together I will continue my gaming career.
CKRAS: Wishes /Greetings / Flowers....
KONONEN: Holler to Ckras-gaming , chris, andi (crandi) and all the lovely mates at dsracklan who where very friendly to us <3 :)
CKRAS: Thank you for your time, we hope to see you as a MVP nominee in other LAN Competitions and events in the future!
KONONEN: Thank you!<3
